SEMINARY, Miss. (WDAM) - A Covington County teacher is facing multiple charges after an assault on New Year’s Eve, the Covington County Sheriff’s Office said. Tracey Lynn Hanegan, 56, of Collins, turned herself in to authorities on Monday. Covington County Sheriff Darrell Perkins said that the victim claimed that Hanegan went to her neighbor’s house with a commercial stapler and proceeded to attack her.

COVINGTON COUNTY, Miss. (WLBT) - The Covington County Sheriff’s Office announced its progress in illegal drug seizures during 2025 on Monday. Since January, deputies and investigators have made 75 drug-related arrests and seized substantial quantities of narcotics and firearms, according to the department.
